Mission Statement

America SCORES empowers its "poet-athletes" to lead healthy lifestyles, be engaged and collaborative students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world. We wholeheartedly believe all youth should experience joy, a sense of belonging, and be well prepared to navigate the future. We believe in a Bay Area rich with meaningful opportunities for all children: teams to play on; outlets for creative and physical expression; and pathways to develop their own voices. We value results, outcomes, and tangible impact for our students and our communities.

Description

America SCORES Bay Area - Changing the Game - Innovative, Whole-Child Youth Development Program

Soccer: The world's most fluid, beautiful game is at the heart of SCORES. Teamwork is at the core.

Poetry: Unleash the voice! Creative expression, wordplay, and public speaking allow students to discover their individual, distinct voices, all while building critical literacy skills and self-confidence.

Service Learning: SCORES students learn how to make a positive, impactful contribution to their communities through a semester-long service-learning curriculum.

History: Founded in 2001, America SCORES Bay Area proudly serves more than 1,600 youth at 80 low income public schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. And we have plans to continue to grow by 20% per year. Our driving passion is to provide more support and opportunities to children who can benefit the most.

SCORES relies on a community of caring adults, partner organizations, and philanthropy to deliver ongoing, accessible programs.
