The Humane Society of McCormick County recently bought a building that we loving call "the cat barn." Inside, we house cats and kittens that are waiting to be adopted. These cats and kittens need love and attention. They also need to be fed and have their litter box cleaned. If you are willing to do one or both of these important things, we want you! You can volunteer for a few hours a week or several times a week or just sign up to be a fill-in for someone when they are unavailable.

The Humane Society of McCormick County was formed to help McCormick County, South Carolina residents and animals. The HSMC is comprised entirely of volunteers whose mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, to provide shelter and care for lost and unwanted animals, to implement educational programs and services, to place animals in humane environments, and to promote responsible pet ownership including spay and neuter. The HSMC is always looking for dedicated, animal-loving volunteers.
The Humane Society of McCormick County is an all-volunteer, no-kill animal rescue. We are the sole source of animal care because McCormick County has no cit or county-run shelter, or veterinarians. We are completely depend upon local donations and private grants to support our efforts to save the lives of homeless dogs and cats in our community. We are a non-profit so donations are tax-deductible. We offer a low-cost or no-cost spay and neuter program for any dog or cat in our county in an effort to humanely reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats.
