City of Tempe Arizona

Camp Challenge is a day camp program for children and young adults (ages 5-22) with disabilities. this program offers a variety of fun activities including arts & crafts, music, dance, games, sports, swimming and bowling.

Volunteers help organize, lead and participate in all activities, including trips to the swimming pool and bowling alley; assist with activity set-up and clean-up; watch for the general safety of participants; and provide peer support.

Outgoing, friendly, mature demeanor; able to set a good example for program participants; able to follow directions.

The program runs Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Because of activities it is not possible to split the day, so volunteers must be able to volunter at least one full day per week.

Application and interview are required.

The mission of the City of Tempe municipal volunteer program is to connect citizens to their city government through opportunities to serve within the Tempe municipal government organization and the community. Volunteers serve in Tempe government offices, programs and facilities and expand and enhance the services the city is able to provide to the community. Volunteers enable the city to stretch tax dollars and improve the lives of its citizens. A wide variety of service opportunities exist for individuals and groups, from sixth-graders through golden-agers, from a few hours to years of service. We welcome you to check us out!
