Food Share partners with the Area Agency on Aging Program Gardeners, Mark, Mauri & Christopher, to help find volunteers to assist them with their organic polyculture farm. Every Monday, fresh produce is harvested from the farm and sent to the Agency on Aging to be boxed up and delivered to hundreds of seniors and disabled people across Ventura County who would otherwise not have access to nutritious food. As a volunteer you’ll take part in every aspect of the farming process, from preparing rows to planting food to tending it and ultimately to harvesting over 25 different species of fruit and vegetable. Tasks vary in difficulty, so there’s something for everyone regardless of age or ability. Come join the community of volunteers helping feed our county.
