Imagine what it would be like if you could not read well. What would it be like if you could not read a medicine bottle, write a resume, or help your children with homework?
The Adult Literacy Program at the National City Public Library is currently seeking bright, enthusiastic Volunteer Literacy Tutors to help adults improve reading and spelling skills.
Free, confidential literacy instruction is provided to community members who are over 16 years of age, out of school and conversant in English. The library provides access to resources, training, and study spaces. Just think of the difference you could make. Get involved today!

- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- 2-3 hours per week for at least 6 months
- Must be able to volunteer during open hours of the Literacy Office (Monday-Thursday).
