Become a member of our Speaker's Bureau. Refine your presentation skills; become familiar with several different educational programs related to Alzheimer's Disease and then be available to make presentations to a variety of groups in our community. Represent The Alzheimer's Association at community Health Fairs and other community events. Curriculum, power point slides, handouts provided for all events.

Training available in the Denver office (455 Sherman St. Denver 80203). Speaking engagements at locations throughout the state.

Mission Statement

We lead Colorado in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by increasing the understanding of dementia and its impact on family and community, providing information and support for those affected, and promoting the advancement of research.

Description

The Alzheimer's Association Colorado Chapter works with diagnosed individuals, families, caregivers and health care professionals to provide care and support for those who are affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. We provide a 24/7 Helpline; offer free and confidentail Care Consultations; manage 90 support groups monthly; oversee Memories in the Making art program in area nursing homes; present educational programs across the state; and assist in enrolling persons with the disease in safety programs. We offer culturally approptiate support for Latinos, African Americans and the LGBT community. Several time during the year we have fundraising events, including: The Walk to END Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, the Memories in the Making Gala and Riv/ALZ.
