The objective of CHW Workforce is to encourage and foster the idea of CHW's development as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular to encourage and foster: the advancement of community health resources, service understanding, of healthcare in underserved communities. CHW Workforce is comprised of healthcare and business professional united in the ideal of service to vunerable populations. Our first step is to identify, advocate and develop a support network for CHW's in Boston and the Tri-State area.
CHW Workforce aspires to challenge current assumptions as regards to gender performance as a means to develop knowledgeable, effective and meaningful CHW's, as well as training and learning methods, including conduct oral/visual presentation. Our CHW's will redefine cultural diversity with a focus on inclusion to foster lasting relations with healthcare industry & professionals.
We at the CHW Workforce are currently organizing events, throughout Boston. Our task is not only to turn away from a fear-based culture of the healthcare field, moreover to re-construct a community of trust that struggles to build Community Health Workers and people of good character.
Community Health Workers (CHWs) are frontline public health workers who are trusted members of and/or have an unusually close understanding of the community they serve. This trusting relationship enables CHWs to serve as a liaison/link/intermediary between health/social services and the community to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery.
We encourage all CHW you to join our mailing list so you will be registered as a member of the CHW Workforce of Boston.Membership supports your ability to become involved in this statewide movement to bring together CHWs and CHW stakeholders to establish the CHW practice as a stable and integral part of health and social service systems in the state of Massachussetts. This membership entitles you to receive breaking news and upcoming events information related to this CHW field from both the national and state perspectives.
