Tangram, a 501(c)(3) United Way agency serving adults with disabilities in Central Indiana, is looking for a volunteer to lead a Next Chapter Book Club. Next Chapter Book Clubs are specifically designed for individuals with developmental disabilities who may or may not have literacy skills. Book Club facilitators will engage and assist participants in learning how to read or improving existing literacy skills in a social setting. Book club facilitators need not have previous experience, but must be open-minded and willing to learn. Facilitators must have an interest in literacy, reading, and helping others achieve their goals. Next Chapter Book Clubs consist of 4-6 people and two facilitators. The book club meets for one hour on Wednesday evenings at the Glendale Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library. Tangram looks forward to meeting enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about literacy and having fun!
