We are looking for local volunteers to help out with Best Friends Animal Society’s annual Strut Your Mutt dog walk and festival event, taking place Saturday, September 14th at Walter E Long Park.
Strut Your Mutt isn't an ordinary dog walk. It's a festival (and walk) where community members come together to show their support for the no-kill vision. It's about saving lives, and having a great time doing it.
Putting on this event takes a team of energetic and dedicated volunteers. This is your chance to be a part of a national movement by raising funds for local animal groups and working towards the goal of No More Homeless Pets.
Volunteer needs for this event will include: event registration; assisting along the walk route; clean up; staffing booths, attractions, and helping with stage/production duties as well as other festival-related needs.
Help with set up will also be needed the day and evening before the event, as well as assistance with tear down once the event ends.
We have a limited number of volunteer positions available for youths ages 12-17, and will provide volunteer hours verification as needed. Please note that volunteers between the ages of 12 and 15 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of their volunteer shift.
