  • As a member of the "Hospice Care Team", you will be trained and oriented as a Hospice Volunteer for an individual who is experiencing a life-threatening disease.
  • Duties may include, but not limited, relief services (providing relief for tired family members); companionship and socialization, errands, transportation, and/or light housekeeping or meal preparation.
  • Hours are flexible (daytime, evening, and weekends). Example: 1-2 times a week--from 1 to 4 hours a visit. After training, volunteers will be placed in their neighborhood (5-10 miles) within the Long Beach area.

  • Our Interdisciplinary Team creates a loving approach to meeting the needs of those we serve by being compassionate and caring at a most difficult time.
  • All our staff, including, our volunteers, receive intensive orientation and training, so that they are better equipped to assist our patients.
  • Companion Hospice has several offices in the Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties; plus our newest office in Mesa, Arizona.
  • We are Medicare Certified, State Licensed, and JCAHO Accredited.
