RETIRED EARTHLINGS NEEDED!
Even if you are not retired, but searching for a place to volunteer, we can utilize your skills, experience and talents!
Challenger Space Center, a non-profit, unique space science education complex, is expanding our committed group of volunteers!
In addition to being a cross-curricular learning environment, the building also serves as an exhibit-based museum open to the general public for the Challenger Space Shuttle and space history. We also have exhibitions on loan from the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum along with a redesigned admission and gift shop areas.
We are in need of volunteers for the following areas:
Gift Shop / Admission
Admission entails greeting guests, accepting payment and answering general questions about museum events and activities.
Gift Shop volunteers assist guests in selecting and purchasing items to remember his / her visit.
Our tour groups vary based on the public traffic each hour of the day so we are looking for individuals that are flexible to the size and ages of the group.
We do not require any special background or knowledge as training is provided on site. We are looking for individuals that would like to share their love of science, space, learning or small group public speaking with guests that visit the center.
