Encourage- by providing support and assistance to resolve problems.

Protect- privacy and confidentiality of residents and those who are involved with the ombudsman services

Advocate- improvements and changes in relevant legislation and policy

Educate- the community about the Long-Term Care Facilities and how they operate.

Requirements & Commitment

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 21
  • Orientation or Training
  • 4-6 hours daytime per week after 30-hr orientation
  • monthly in-service meetings; some evening and weekend visits
