Provide 11th hour support to patients who are actively dying (in the last 24-48 hours of life.) Sit with patients in their own homes or skilled care facilities throughout the Twin Cities metro area. 11th hour requests may be for: Caregivers who need to leave the bedside and get a solid night's sleep Patients who are alone patients who are agitated and calmed by presence Caregivers who are afraid to be alone with the patient Volunteers should: Have at least 6 months of hospice experience (as a caregiver, volunteer, or staff member) Be comfortable with death and dying Be able to volunteer for overnight shifts at least once a month More details are listed on our web site at http://www.fairview.org/HospiceVolunteer.
