Museum Docents provide guided tours of the Federal era Beall-Dawson House Museum and the Stonestreet Museum of 19th Century Medicine in Rockville to adult and family visitors. They also staff the Museum Shop and answer telephone inquiries. A love of history and ability to work with the public are required. Training is provided. Museum hours are Thursday to Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00. Docents work two afternoons per month.

The Montgomery County Historical Society ( MCHS) is dedicated to encouraging the County's residents and the public at large to discover their common heritage. To achieve this, the Society uses its historic resources (historic buildings, artifact and library collections, educational programs) and fosters partnerships with others to create a shared sense of place in a changing environment.
Description
The Montgomery County Historical Society (MCHS) strives to highlight the role of history as a vital part of the cultural and social fabric of Montgomery County. Montgomery County has experienced significant growth in the past sixty five years and the Montgomery County Historical Society has grown as well. Since its founding in 1944, MCHS has moved from an all volunteer organization to one boasting over 1,400 members, a professional staff and hundreds of supportive and dedicated volunteers.
