Mission Statement

The Montgomery County Historical Society ( MCHS) is dedicated to encouraging the County's residents and the public at large to discover their common heritage. To achieve this, the Society uses its historic resources (historic buildings, artifact and library collections, educational programs) and fosters partnerships with others to create a shared sense of place in a changing environment.

Description

The Montgomery County Historical Society (MCHS) strives to highlight the role of history as a vital part of the cultural and social fabric of Montgomery County. Montgomery County has experienced significant growth in the past sixty five years and the Montgomery County Historical Society has grown as well. Since its founding in 1944, MCHS has moved from an all volunteer organization to one boasting over 1,400 members, a professional staff and hundreds of supportive and dedicated volunteers.
