Carmen

The Aurora Municipal Center is home to a ten-acre xeriscape demonstration garden, an important resource for water conservation education in Colorado. Volunteers help develop and maintain various garden areas, including the vegetable garden, the herbal/medicinal bed, the sedum bed, and the butterfly garden. Staff need help from those with horticulture skills - but where gardening skills are lacking, enthusiasm will do!

Volunteers will work outside among the flowers, grasses, grasshoppers, and butterflies enjoying the sunshine throughout the spring, summer, and autumn. Tasks include planting, weeding, pruning, watering, and mulching. Volunteers also have the opportunity to educate visitors.

Volunteers observe nature and learn about fascinating plants best suited for our environmental conditions.

Enjoy educational opportunities throughout the season.
