Vice-President, Board of Directors - Remote Position
Harm Reduction Circle, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on reducing overdose and drug-related harm at music festivals, concerts, and other nightlife events, is seeking a Vice-President, Board of Directors to join our team. Our mission is to provide non-judgmental peer education, innovative methods to break down stigma, and empower participants with evidence-based strategies. We also support underserved populations such as homeless individuals, sex workers, and people who use drugs (PWUD) through regional initiatives.


Responsibilities:
As the Vice-President, Board of Directors, you will work closely with the President and other members of the Board to ensure effective governance and oversight of the organization. Your responsibilities will include leading the Board in the development and implementation of strategic plans, policies, and procedures, collaborating with the President and other Board members to achieve goals and objectives, and ensuring adherence to governance responsibilities, including financial oversight and legal compliance. Additionally, you will serve as an ambassador for the organization, participate actively in Board meetings and committee work, and support fundraising efforts. Finally, you will foster a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.


Requirements:

  • Experience in nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting, with a proven track record of success in these areas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people, including Board members, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively articulate the organization's mission and goals to various stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) nonprofits is preferred.
  • A passion for the mission and vision of the organization, with a commitment to advancing its goals and objectives through strategic leadership and effective governance.



Time Commitment:

Average time commitment of 10-15 hours per month. The Vice-President is expected to attend all biannual and special meetings, and fulfill their responsibilities outside of meetings.
