Treasurer, Board of Directors - Remote Position Harm Reduction Circle, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on reducing overdose and drug-related harm at music festivals, concerts, and other nightlife events, is seeking a Treasurer, Board of Directors to join our team. Our mission is to provide non-judgmental peer education, innovative methods to break down stigma, and empower participants with evidence-based strategies. We also support underserved populations such as homeless individuals, sex workers, and people who use drugs (PWUD) through regional initiatives. Responsibilities: As the Treasurer, Board of Directors, you will be responsible for conducting the financial affairs of the organization as directed and authorized by the Board of Directors and Executive Committee (if any). You will make reports of corporate finances as required, but no less often than at each meeting of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. The Treasurer is also responsible for ensuring the organization complies with all financial requirements, including legal and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience with nonprofit accounting practices, financial reporting, and budgeting. Requirements: Experience in nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people Excellent communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Familiarity with IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) nonprofits is preferred A passion for the mission and vision of the organization Time Commitment: Average time commitment of 3 to 8 hours per month. Syringe Exchange Program Coordinator (California) - Hybrid Position We are seeking a Syringe Exchange Program Coordinator (California) to join our team! We achieve this through non-judgmental peer education & innovative methods aimed at breaking down stigma & empowering participants, all while utilizing proven evidence-based strategies. In addition to our nightlife focus, we also support underserved populations, such as homeless individuals, sex workers & PWUD, through regional initiatives. Our organization is committed to reducing harm and preventing the spread of HIV, STDs, and viral hepatitis through a needle exchange program. As the Syringe Exchange Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing operating procedures for the program in Southern California. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with a Needle Exchange Program (SSP) and a passion for harm reduction and HIV/STD prevention. Responsibilities: Develop and implement operating procedures for a Needle Exchange Program in California, including providing sterile needles, syringes, and other injection equipment, safe disposal containers for needles and syringes, HIV and hepatitis testing and linkage to treatment, education about overdose prevention and safer injection practices, referral to substance use disorder treatment, including medication-assisted treatment, referral to medical, mental health, and social services, and tools to prevent HIV, STDs, and viral hepatitis. Collaborate with volunteers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth program operations. Conduct ongoing assessments of program needs and make recommendations for improvements. Maintain accurate records and documentation of program activities and outcomes. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices. This is a hybrid role that requires both remote and on-site work. While the Syringe Exchange Program Coordinator will primarily work remotely, there may be occasions when on-site work is required in Southern California. The specific on-site work requirements will depend on program needs and will be discussed and planned with the Coordinator in advance. Requirements: Prior experience working with a Needle Exchange Program (SSP). Passion for harm reduction and HIV/STD prevention. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Self-starter, problem solver, freethinker, open-minded, and non-judgmental. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
