On October 30th, Bridges will be hosting a Trunk or Treat for the youth in the Green Valley neighborhood of Arlington!
Help us make this a success by signing up to host a decorated trunks! You can decorate your trunk however you want to make it fun to look at for the kids. Along with decorating, feel free to pass out candy or snacks, or even host a fall/Halloween activity near your car!
If you want to be involved, but don't want to host a trunk, we also need volunteers to be costume contest judges, help with the carnival games, register people, and more!

Mission Statement
Bridges to Independence leads individuals and families out of homelessness and into stable, independent futures. We offer a continuum of aid and support for all family members, helping them attain financial security and move forward into self-sufficiency. A private, nonprofit organization, Bridges has been working with and for families experiencing homelessness since 1985, when we were founded as the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless.
Description
In a nutshell, "what we do" is build bridges to independence for homeless families and families at risk of becoming homeless. Our bridges - our services - strengthen these families and provide them with the stability, skills, knowledge, and community networks to become self-sufficient. We offer supports for every family member - adults and children alike. Our short-term goal is to help individual clients right now. Long-term, we aim to break the inter-generational cycle of poverty by preparing today’s struggling kids to be tomorrow’s successful adults. From housing to financial literacy, from tutoring to youth development, from life skills to career counseling, we tailor a continuum of services. Some activities are required, some are optional, and some are just plain fun.
