ORGANIZATION: CHILDREN S MUSEUM OF CENTRAL OREGON

  • 4 people are interested

We are in the process of growing our board, committee, and volunteer base to set up this museum for the future. Our goal is to start building a physical location in the next 2-5 years. To get to that point, we need to develop our business plan, establish funding, acquire a location, etc. If you want to be a part of growing this museum from the ground up, please respond to one of our volunteer opportunities!

We want 3-10 people to join each committee based on what area interests you. To be clear, these individuals will not be board members, but instead committee members who get to focus on specific topics and tasks regarding the museum’s development.

Public Relations committee - Includes marketing matters (branding, website, social media, print material design); Includes communications matters (reaches out to the public to create key partnerships, runs/posts on social media, creates email campaigns).

Committee Commitment - An individual who is on a committee can expect to attend one (1) monthly meeting for the committee and volunteer for other tasks outside of meeting times. There is no set time frame for serving on a committee, but we ideally ask for a commitment of at least 6 months. We want to keep the committees open to people interested in helping! Serving on a committee will be less work than serving on the general board.

About CHILDREN S MUSEUM OF CENTRAL OREGON

Location:

320 SW Century Drive #405-259, BEND, OR 97702, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to inspire curiosity and creativity in children through hands-on STEAM experiences. We believe children are intelligent, creative, and resourceful; they deserve respect and the opportunity to learn in their own way. Our museum will be built on inquiry-based learning strategies with open-ended exploration. Our museum will demonstrate how "playing" is the work of the child. We believe that families are important as a child’s first teacher and as their partners in learning. Our programs and participatory exhibits will be designed to encourage interaction and inquiry, as well as participation from the entire family.
