ORGANIZATION: CIVIC WORKS

This is a chance to be on the front lines of what is going on in the world. Our volunteers advocate for human rights victims all over the world, and our writers take on pressing issues of the day. We need a few organized people to manage the work. Your work will include:

- matching volunteers to victims and families
- following up with clients to make sure they are being helped
- following up with volunteers to see if they have questions or know what to do next
- maintaining a trello task board
- maintaining a calendar
- participating in biweekly meetings

You will have the opportunity to virtually meet wonderful people from all over the world who are grappling head-on with issues like the Uyghur camps in China, the imprisonment of dissidents in Saudi, assistance for asylum seekers, voting integrity, prison reform, gerrymandering and more. You are also welcome to raise issues specifically that are of importance to you. Ownership and leadership are important in this role, however you will have regular guidance and direct contact with mentors.

The concept of civ.works is to finally provide a societal machine to stand up against something created nearly 50 years ago -and begin the process of empowering citizens again. We are building a platform together -against an incredibly mature and well-funded machine. Your volunteer efforts will be helping us collectively build something powerful and important.
