We are seeking an intern to assist as a Grant Writer to identify grant opportunities and manage the grant proposal process. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), a professional demeanor, the ability to work both independently and as a team player, and the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously. Tasks include:
- Identify, research and prioritize grants to apply for (based on size of grant and funds availability)
- Communicate with foundations, if needed, to confirm eligibility to apply for funding
- Prepare and submit grant requests, identifying all requirements/attachments
- Track and create a calendar of grant opportunities - including deadline dates, required
materials, etc.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated experience in obtaining grants from non-profits, charities, and other philanthropic organizations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required
- Experience with sourcing opportunities, cold-calling, contact development, and business relationship management
- Detail oriented, adaptable, organized and demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and email marketing
