Britepaths partners with Fairfax County Farmers Markets, Virginia Fresh Match and FRESHFARM to assist qualified community members maximize their SNAP/EBT benefits by providing a match of up to $40 throughout the Farmers Market season. Britepaths is in great need of Volunteers to represent us at the Wakefield Farmers Market in Annandale during the 2024 market season. This is part-time position requires 5 hours of work every other week. Volunteers must be 18 or older and have reliable transportation to the Market. Interested applicants should be willing to commit to a regular schedule of 6 months. Volunteers are welcome to volunteer more often if they choose, and openings are available. The Wakefield Farmers Market at Audrey Moore Recreation Center (8100 Braddock Rd., Annandale, VA) operates on Wednesday afternoons May 1-October 30, 2024. Volunteers will assist from 1:15 pm to 6:30 pm. Britepaths is seeking an Office Volunteer to assist our staff with various tasks. Main duties will consist of data entry, and miscellaneous administrative projects. Time commitment: 2-4 hours once a week, Monday through Friday, any time between 10am-2pm in our office in Fairfax, 3959 Pender Drive, Suite 200, Fairfax, VA 22030. Position Requirements Must be comfortable assisting with phone calls to our families to obtain information about dietary needs, checking to ensure correct information has been collected and setting days and times for food assistance pick-ups. Must have a desire to learn how to work in a goal and team-oriented environment and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Must be self-motivated, take initiative, have good organizational and planning skills, and work easily with others. Must have hands-on ability to work with computer programs to include a proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Attention to detail and interpersonal skills are essential. Britepaths is seeking volunteers to work with our Workforce Development clients in two capacities. The first opportunity is working with clients to create and/or edit LinkedIn profiles. Volunteers need to have strong writing skills and be LinkedIn users. The second opportunity is working with clients on mock interviews. Volunteers should have experience hiring candidates for jobs, strong interpersonal skills, and are willing to meet virtually with clients to provide immediate feedback and tips for connecting with interviewers. Clients receiving either support are enrolled in a Workforce Development Program and are committed to working with our staff and volunteers to improve their career outlook through gaining interview skills and developing LinkedIn profiles. We welcome professionals in all fields in Northern Virginia/DMV area. Volunteers' time is flexible, and meetings occur on video-chat platforms. This would be a flexible, ongoing, as-needed volunteer position with Britepaths.

Britepaths is seeking volunteers who are experienced with the Federal and/or non-federal resume writing and would be willing to work with our clients to provide edits, reviews, and feedback for their resumes, as well as with cover letter writing assistance. Volunteers should have strong writing skills and attention to detail and be knowledgeable about resume formatting and styling, use of keywords, bullets, and language so that clients' strengths will be highlighted. Clients receiving either support are enrolled in a Workforce Development Program and are committed to working with our staff and volunteers to improve their career outlook through gaining resume skills and improving their employment prospects. We welcome volunteers in all professional fields within the Northern Virginia/DMV area.Volunteers' time is flexible, and help may be given via phone calls and/or Zoom meetings. This would be a flexible, ongoing, as-needed volunteer position with Britepaths.

Volunteer positions include: Financial Coaches and Mentors, Financial Empowerment Workshop Instructors, Spanish-speaking Virtual Administrative Assistant and Community Engagement Volunteers. Our Financial Coaches and Mentors provide virtual, one-on-one client services. The length of one-on-one client engagement ranges from one session to multiple sessions, to 6 months or more. Typical client meetings last 1 hour. Our workshops are offered virtually or in-person at a community partner’s location within the DC metro area, typical length of class is 1 hour. Our Community Ambassadors represent Britepaths and our programs at community engagement events. Britepaths provides training, support and the tools volunteers need to help individuals and families in Northern Virginia better manage their finances and achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. We are seeking volunteers who live in the DC metro area. Our Current Volunteer Needs Include: Bilingual volunteers to teach virtual and in-person personal finance classes, provide one-on-one financial coaching and mentorship to our clients. Needed languages include Spanish, Dari, Pashto, and Arabic. Certified Financial Planners or Accredited Financial Counselors for our financial mentoring program. Community Engagement Volunteers to represent our programs at community events (must be able to provide own transportation. Bilingual (English-Spanish) virtual administrative volunteers for client follow-up. Note: For those interested in volunteering as a financial coach, mentor or instructor, we hold virtual group new volunteer orientations 3-4 times per year and provide one-on-one volunteer training. You must have a solid financial background and strong interest in teaching financial education either to individuals or in a group setting.
