Mission Statement: "Westmoreland County Victim/Witness Services strives to empower victims of crime in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice System. This is accomplished by ensuring that all victims of serious personal injury crimes are advised of their rights as afforded by the Victims Bill of Rights and are, therefore, given a voice in the prosecution of their offender."
Westmoreland County Victim/Witness Services is seeking volunteers to perform a variety of duties. Westmoreland County Victim/Witness Services is a grant funded program that is based in the District Attorney's Office and provides services to Crime Victims in Westmoreland County.
Opportunities for volunteers include assisting with direct services by phone or in person. This can include accompaniment to court proceedings, information on cases, and assistance in filing for Victims Compensation Assistance. All volunteers must be interviewed by the Victim/Witness Coordinator, have act 33 & 34 clearances if providing in person direct services and are subject to an in house background check.

Agency provides services to all types of crime victims, included but not limited to, Court Accompaniment, Advocacy, Assistance with Victims Compensation & Restitution, Supportive Counseling, Referral to Community Resources. Work with law enforcement, District Attorney and Court System.
