Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENTWestmorelandCounty Victim/Witness Services strives to empower victims of crime in the Criminal and Criminal Justice System.

This is accomplished by ensuring that all victims of serious personal injury crimes are advised of their rights as afforded by the Victims Bill of Rights and are, therefore, given a voice in the prosecution of their offender.

All victims shall be treated with respect and dignity and be able to choose their level of participation in the Criminal Justice Process.

Description

Agency provides services to all types of crime victims, included but not limited to, Court Accompaniment, Advocacy, Assistance with Victims Compensation & Restitution, Supportive Counseling, Referral to Community Resources. Work with law enforcement, District Attorney and Court System.
