  • Take dogs outside for exercise & love
  • Help as Office Receptionist
  • Fold & label mailings to be sent out
  • Sort & count returnable cans & bottles
  • Transport returnables for refunds
  • Fundraising & Promotional Volunteers help man tables at various events throughout the county. Sell T-shirts, hats, hand out brochures, or set-up and take down booths.
  • Volunteer Coordinator, 10-15 hrs per week.
  • Join other volunteers in making crafts to sell as SPCA fundraisers

Volunteers make a difference!

AmeriCorps Seniors of Steuben County provides opportunities for people ages 55 and over to make a significant impact in their communities through volunteering. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few hours a month to over 40 hours a week serving in their communities. Opportunities to serve include volunteering at local hospitals and nursing homes, schools, food pantries, public safety programs, and other nonprofit agencies and organizations. RSVP staff assist volunteers in sharing their experience, abilities and skills for the betterment of the community and themselves. Volunteer orientation, on-site training, supplemental insurance (while on duty), and mileage reimbursement are free services available for RSVP volunteers.
