Are you feeling helpless about the rise of violence in your community? You can do something about it! Volunteers are needed in Queens and Manhattan Emergency Departments to help survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence (IPV). Mount Sinai Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention (SAVI) Program Advocates offer comfort and provide important information to help survivors regain control over their lives and help begin their healing process.

Volunteers must live in Queens or Manhattan; attend a 6-session, 40-hour training course; comply with medical clearance standards; be on-call at least one weeknight shift per month; and, make a minimum of one year commitment to the program. The SAVI Program will be conducting interviews from August through early October for the Fall 2015 Advocate Training. You bring your compassion and we’ll provide the training!

If you are interested in volunteering, please call (212) 423-2151 or visit www.mssm.edu/savi for more information.
