Patient Support Volunteers
Volunteers needed in Lincoln, Burke & Gaston Counties as well
Patient Support Volunteers provide companionship and support to patients and families at a time when many people hesitate to ask for help. Volunteers offer relief, friendship, and affection. More simply, they spend "quality time" with the patient. He or she might...
*Hold a hand - provide a source of support and strength
*Warm a meal - assist with small tasks
*Play comforting music or read aloud
*Run an errand
*Be a friend
*Sit with a patient - provide respite relief to a caregiver
*Help with yard work - provide a needed service
Administrative
*Greeter at Reception desks

We currently need volunteers to help serve our patients in their homes and community facilities in the following areas: Gaston, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Alexander , Lincoln and Iredell Counties. We also need volunteers who can help at our Sherrills Ford Facility.

Description
Carolina Caring was established as one of North Carolina’s original three hospice providers in 1979, when formalized end-of-life care was in its early stages. We began as a small group of grassroots volunteers who came together to support families in our immediate community.
Through the years, we learned more, grew more, and became a valued resource both locally and regionally. Thanks to our reputation for quality care and compassion, we were invited into neighboring towns and counties, and we accepted the call to help folks throughout the Catawba Valley. Currently, families and medical professionals in 12 counties count on Carolina Caring to comfort, uplift, and care for individuals challenged by advanced illness, readily entrusting their loved ones to our expertise.
