We are looking for energetic day-of-event volunteers to assist with a variety of different fun and exciting opportunities. Help us make event day a special one for survivors and all participants by lending a few hours of your time! See below for the different event day of opportunities on June 2, 2024:

START POINT - 5:00-8:00 a.m. (Ben Franklin Bridge - Corner of 5th & Race St., Philadelphia, PA 19106)

Corral Managers - Corral and release riders at ride's start.

Baggage Helpers - Collect bags from riders and place in transport truck bound for the endpoint.

Water Distribution Give out water to riders

Floaters - No specific role. Will be put where needed for baggage, directions, corrals, cheer station, etc.

Clean Up Breakdown tables, tents, re-pack unused items, pack supplies, throw out trash and clean-up site.

REST STOPS - Various shifts

Cherry Hill East High School - 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (1750 Kresson Road, Cherry Hill, NJ08003)

Waterford Elementary School - 6:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. (1106 Old White Horse Pike, Waterford, NJ 08089)

Hammonton Lake Park - 6:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. (Corner of S. Egg Harbor Rd. & Park Ave, Hammonton, NJ 08037

Egg Harbor City School District 7:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. (730 Havana Ave., Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215)

Pleasantville Greyhound Facility 8:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m. (711 N New Rd, Pleasantville, NJ 08232)

Century Loop

Trinity Church Water Stop- 7:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. (101 S Cologne Ave, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215)

Lower Bank Tavern Rest Stop - 7:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (509 County Road 542, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215)

Losasso Farms Water Stop - 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Corner of Nesco & Columbia Rd., Hammonton, NJ 08037)

Volunteers are needed for different tasks throughout the day including but not limited to:

Cheer stations Cheer on riders on as they enter and exit the rest/ water stops

Food/ Beverage prep & distribution Cut up fruit (such as oranges, watermelon, bananas, etc), mix Gatorade sports drink, unbox packaged items (granola bars, Uncrustables,chips, etc.), water and offer to riders and SAG/ motorcycle support teams.

Signage set up - Place event signage and company banners on-site.

Ingress/ Egress Guides - Safely direct riders in and out of rest stop entrances and exits.

Clean Up Breakdown tables, tents, re-pack unused items, pack supplies, recycle, throw out trash and clean-up site.

Our rest stop volunteers are outside all day. A mandatory part of working at our rest stops is to HAVE FUN! We encourage playing music, cheering, and encouraging Bike-A-Thon riders. Other specific roles include:

SUPPORT AND GEAR (SAG) DRIVERS - 5:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Various shifts.

Choose to be a SAG driver throughout the route, offering support and gear to riders along the ride. Shifts vary, SAG Lead Captain will work with you directly after sign-up. ( Background check required.)

MOTORCYCLE SUPPORT - 5:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Various shifts

Choose to be a motorcycle support throughout the route, offering support to riders along the ride. Shifts vary, Motorcycle Lead Captain will work with you directly after sign-up.

END POINT - 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Various shifts (Ski Beach, N. Dorset Ave & Burk Ave, Ventnor City, NJ 08406)

Outside Tents - Distribution of various event related materials such as t-shirts, food/water, century rider patch, merchandise, cheer stations and information at our Society Central information tent. Volunteers will be working outside.

Baggage Pick Up - Volunteers for this role will be helping with organizing and distributing bags.

Floaters - Help with an array of duties, including but not limited to traffic and crowd control, cheering stations, Survivor ceremonies helpers, bike checkers, runners for team tents, loading and unloading supplies, etc.

Volunteer Groups Welcome

We provide opportunities for companies, schools, or organizations to volunteer as a group or have a company cares day. It's team building for a great cause.

Youth Volunteers

The minimum age to volunteer is age 14+ unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult. Child labor laws apply to youth volunteers. Anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted to use power equipment, and certain other restrictions may apply, see NJ child labor laws PA child labor laws.
