ESL Reading/Tech Tutor

Join our community of learners! Literacy Minnesota is seeking volunteer reading and tech tutors to support adult ESL learners at our Open Door Learning Center in Minneapolis.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Skilled at connecting with people of diverse races, ethnicities, and backgrounds
  • Demonstrate an interest in and willingness to learn about language development and English grammar.
  • Alternatively support individual learners in basic reading or technical needs in a one-on-one or computer lab setting
  • Desire to work cooperatively to meet the needs of participants
  • Teaching experiences helpful but not required

    Mondays or Thursdays, 4:30-6:00pm

Description

Founded in 1972, Literacy Minnesota is Minnesota's only non-profit, volunteer-based, education provider that operates statewide. Through a network of over 100 community and school-based programs, we provide free classes for individuals lacking the most basic reading, writing and English-speaking skills. We serve both native-born Americans and refugees and immigrants.
