Do you want to make a difference for our planet and get hands-on work experience at an international conservation NGO? Rainforest Partnership (RP) is a non-profit based in Austin, Texas, with team members in the US, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico and Europe. We conserve and restore tropical rainforests by working with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and respect both people and nature.

RP is looking for a skilled Web Developer Volunteer to assist in the organization’s web development, optimization, and maintenance of multiple global initiative web pages and websites in Webflow. You will work remotely with the marketing, projects, and website teams.

We are looking for individuals who can commit around 15-20 hours per week or more during periods of high project demand. For this position, you must have previous experience building Webflow websites. We will ask you to provide an online portfolio showcasing your Webflow projects following your initial submission for this position on VolunteerMatch.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and develop RP’s and other initiative’s website projects, managing the overall project timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate, and mentor project UX designers assigning tasks as needed, as well as offer feedback and direction to the UX designers on project deliverables.
  • Work with RP team members, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Able to iterate on UI/UX designs as needed and have knowledge of UX/UI best practices and standards for creating engaging user experiences.
  • Convert mid to high-fidelity Figma designs to Webflow to build and launch responsive websites/webpages optimized for desktop and mobile users.
  • Provide hands-on support with website optimization using Google Tag Manager to implement conversion tracking and analytics tags on the website.
  • Ensure the website is responsive, accessible and user-friendly across all devices.
  • Troubleshoot and fix any issues related to website functionality and accessibility.
  • Optimize web pages for maximum speed, scalability, and SEO best practices to improve overall website design and functionality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Webflow CMS and expertise in responsive layouts.
  • Solid understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Proficiency in web design software(s) and MS Office tools including Figma, Sketch, Adobe Suite, etc.
  • Knowledge of SEO, best practices to improve website visibility and search engine rankings, Google Analytics, Google Optimize, and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience and knowledge of creating and using branding guidelines/style guides.
  • A strong knowledge of accessibility and website security principles.
  • Ability to compose compelling imagery and web design under time constraint (i.e. distilling ideas into concise and impactful visuals).
  • Punctuality and deadline-driven personality, following a UX design process.
  • Strong communication and management skills to drive progress for an ambitious website design and development team.
  • Reliable and responsive to team member needs as they arise on a regular basis.
  • Positive attitude and humility.
  • Knowledge of Spanish language is appreciated but not required.
