Volunteers are critically important for visiting patients at the end of life that do not have family or friends that regularly visit. VITAS Healthcare is looking for Patient Volunteers to visit patients on hospice residing in nursing homes as well as their own homes located in the South County area, 63128. This includes patients residing at Chestnut Rehab and Nursing home located at 10954 Kennerly Rd., St. Louis, MO 63128 and Delmar Gardens South located at 5300 Butler Hill Rd., St. Louis, MO 63128. Patient Care Volunteers offer companionship, play music and games, read to patients and help in other meaningful ways.
VITAS Volunteers visit patients to provide specific, non- medical care through socialization and friendly visits. VITAS Healthcare provides comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteering on communication skills, family dynamics and how to make a positive difference for patients and their caregivers. The days and times for volunteering are flexible according to your availability. Any time you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated. Description
Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare, providing friendly, non- medical support to hospice patients and their family or offering support services in the office. We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to volunteers for our patients in their homes or in nursing facilities in the community.
