VITAS Healthcare is looking for a Volunteer to help with Administrative projects at our office located in Maryland Heights. Administrative/Office volunteers promote hospice care by helping perform clerical assignments in an office setting. They support patients and families by preparing mailings, computer input, answering the phones and assisting with special projects. These projects include maintaining patient records, filing, as well as making nursing admission and legal packets. This volunteer office position is estimated to be 3 hours a week. The hours are flexible and completely up to you. Anytime you are able to contribute during the hours 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday is greatly appreciated. VITAS Healthcare is looking for kind and caring people to help terminally ill patients and their families- just by being there. Many of our patients live at home with family members or friends who rarely get the opportunity to leave the house since they are devoted to caring for their loved ones. Relief care (sitting with a patient while the caregiver takes a break) is one of our biggest volunteer needs. For caregivers, getting the opportunity to run an errand, go to the movies or a doctor’s appointment can renew their energy. This better equips them for the responsibilities of caregiving. We are currently looking for a Caregiver Relief volunteer with weekday availability to help with visiting a home patient in Arnold, MO 63010. Caregiver relief volunteers provide non-medical services for home patients while family members take a break. This volunteer opportunity would be for approximately 2 to 3 hours a week.
