Volunteer Position: Agency Pickup & Donations Desk

MISSION

Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin exists to end hunger in southwestern Wisconsin

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Agency Pickup & Donations Desk Volunteer will assist our Partner Agencies with their pickup orders and receive all drop-off donations.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pull Orders for Agency Pickup:

• Assist Partner Agencies by pulling orders located around the Distribution Center and help with loading their orders into their vehicles.

Receive Donations:

• Record donations and place received donations into their designated areas of the Distribution Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Volunteers will have some interaction with community members and Second Harvest partners and are expected to abide by SHFB policies and procedures.
• Friendly, patient, with an eye for detail.
• Volunteers will be expected to sit; stand; walk; crouch; twist; reach with hands and arms; and lift between 20-30 pounds.
• Experience using a pallet jack, or willingness to learn.

COMMITMENT:

• Assigned a weekly schedule

Current Shifts Open:

• Monday Afternoons: 12 pm - 3 pm
• Friday Afternoons: 12 pm - 3 pm

REQUIREMENTS:

• 18 years and above
• Approved Second Harvest volunteer
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Adheres to workplace safety standards and procedures
