Make an impact working with local homeless youth while using your own creativity! The HALO Event Planning Intern will primarily focus on developing, coordinating, and facilitating the 3v3 Tourney, 3rd Party Fundraisers, and Annual Art Auction fundraising events. They will also help with planning any other internal or external events that arise. This position will be for at least 10 hours a week (including some evenings), and virtual attendance event planning meetings. This internship consists of office hours at the HALO Girls Home in Jefferson City, Missouri, or can be entirely virtual if preferred by the candidate. This intern will report to the Jefferson City Operations Manager. The time frame for this internship is one semester to one year at least, 10 hours a week.

A majority of this position will comprise of:

  • Brainstorming with staff on the event aspects

  • Coordination of event logistics and timeline management

  • Promotion of event to local supporters and donors

  • Planning and implementing actionable next steps for the event

  • Volunteer recruitment and day of event management

  • Planning and scheduling social media for donors, sponsors, and event promotion

  • Assisting with event and programming needs as they arise

  • Website updates and creating blog posts

  • Video production

  • E-marketing

  • Creating social media posts
