HALO helps one more child spend one less day alone.

Description

HALO provides the foundation of a family to thousands of homeless and at-risk children. At HALO, we give our homeless kids a home. We teach life skills through art to unlock dreams about their future. We work wherever kids who have been abused, abandoned, and orphaned, need to feel loved. We work help one more child spend one less day alone. Love heals.

HALO believes every child should have the foundation of a family. Since 2005, HALO has provided love in the form of housing, healing and education to heal homeless and at-risk children. Featured in the Moroccanoil INSPIRED film series, "American Spirit" of CBS Evening News, "Heroes Among Us" and "25 Women Changing the World" of PEOPLE magazine, "The Today Show," and Variety Magazine, HALO serves more than 3,000 children and supports 11 programs around the globe each year. It has Learning Centers and Housing programs in Kansas City, and Jefferson City, Missouri, and art programming in New York and Portland. HALO also supports orphanages and programs in Uganda, Kenya, Mexico and India. Learn how Love Heals at HALO and help one more child spend one less day alone at www.haloworldwide.org.

If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity where you feel connected with the organization and the people it helps, HALO is for you! Through volunteering at the HALO Foundation I have been able to experience hands on the work HALO is doing. It means so much when you can directly see your impact on someone's life and HALO offers the opportunity for this. The HALO staff goes above and beyond to make your volunteer experience stress-free and they are people who truly connect with the HALO mission and it's volunteers.

HALO is the BEST organization. They are extremely efficient, value their volunteers/donors, and do amazing work. Hands down one of the greatest things about Kansas City. I love it!

This depends on the interest a person has in working with children and Mostly the people i associate with like working with orphans.

Being an adoptive Mom, I have visited orphanages. Once you have visited an orphanage, there is no way you can turn your back to helping orphans. Once you see their eyes when you don't pick them, once you hear their cries and there is no one to comfort them, once you have to walk away and not bring them all home with you, you can't forget, and the sound of their unanswered cries permeates your soul.

This is a wonderful organization to volunteer for. The people are great to work with and the children are truly inspiring. It's a great way for children [and adults] to become more philanthropic and more involved. Plus the art auction, boardbreakathon and other events are tons of fun!!
