Is giving back to the community on your list of goals for 2024 or have you been thinking about how you can create a positive impact in your community?

You can make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's by joining the Volunteer Walk Committee for the Walk to End Alzheimer's - San Diego or North County.

The Walk Planning Committee NEEDS YOU as our Community Engagement Chair. In this role you will serve as a volunteer leader of the Community Engagement Committee.

The Community Engagement Committee is vital to the success of the Walk as it helps to increase awareness about the Walk to End Alzheimer's and our mission. The committee works on retention and recruitment of Walk teams, connecting with and getting to know our our Walk Champions members, and helping to organize a Community Kickoff event in the summer then having a wonderful time on Walk day!

As the Chair of this committee you will help recruit for and the lead the committee to success by ensuring all the necessary resources so each member can recruit community teams, invite our past walkers back, implement marketing and awareness building campaigns, and more.

Is this you? Join a group of caring volunteers that are passionate about the cause and ending Alzheimer's. Doing so will help families everywhere facing this disease, include more than 60,000 right here in San Diego.

Whether you can only spare a few hours or make a more significant time commitment, we hope you will consider joining this very special community. For more information, please reach out to Mandy Shefman at mlshefman@alz.org or 619.329.1310.

We have two Walks for 2024 for your consideration:
The Walk to End Alzheimer's - North County will take place on Saturday, September 21st at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. To learn more about the Walk, please visit: act.alz.org/northcounty
Or the Walk to End Alzheimer's - San Diego will take place on Saturday, October 5th at NTC Park at Liberty Station. To learn more about the Walk, please visit: act.alz.org/sandiego
