Purpose: Assists once a week in following up with Spanish-speaking clients, requests for information, and translating documents from English to Spanish. May be asked to help with intakes as well. 

Location: LSS Thousand Oaks Office 

Requirements:

  • Conversational in Spanish  
  • Spanish reading and writing skills recommended 
  • Able to commit to at least a few shifts per month 
  • Eager to help underserved populations 
  • Background check may be required

Position Description:

The Spanish-Language Specialist Volunteer shift schedule is flexible depending on availability of the volunteer, but should be about a three-hour shift, about once a week. The SLS volunteer will help us accommodate our Spanish-speaking clients by placing calls to answer questions, take down information, and direct clients to services. Possibility for remote volunteering. This is a great opportunity to help serve the homeless and at-risk population in the Conejo Valley and Ventura County! 

Support:  
Training will be provided. The LSS staff are onsite for questions and concerns.
