Share your time - become a hospice volunteer!

Our hospice program, "Vets Caring for Vets" at Kindred Hospice needs volunteers who are willing to share some of their time and talents to help patients and their families who are dealing with end-of-life issues.

Volunteers work directly with patients and families to provide services such as:

  • Companionship - talking, playing cards, reading or playing music.
  • Emotional Support - talk about their veteran service
  • Socialization - participate in activities with other patients

Training hospice volunteers who also are Veterans have the unique ability to support other Veterans who are terminally ill. Our hospice program provides education on the hospice philopsophy and our care model. Our training also helps Veterans understand their role as a hospice volunteer.

We ask that you be able to commit two hours minimum a month to spending time volunteering for our Veteran Volunteer program.

Volunteers have the flexability to visit patients around their schedule, weekdays or weekends whenever time allows.

Please contact our Manager of Volunteer Services for more information
