Do you feel that life seems to have a greater purpose when you volunteer your time and your heart to help others. Volunteer opportunities are available at Gentiva Hospice to provide friendly visits to patients and/or their families at local healthcare facilities or in their personal home in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh. Volunteers are there to listen and talk, read a book, play cards or watch a favorite t.v. show. Volunteers also provide special support including playing music or working on craft projects. No matter what your skills, talents or motivation, we have the opportunity for you to help! Volunteers may have to adhere to facility guidelines such as wearing a mask Volunteers would be informed in advance. Volunteer opportunities are available at Gentiva Hospice to perform tasks in our Pittsburgh office such as: Making phone calls to patients and families Filing and/or making copies Creating decorations and billboards Making crafts and decorations for patients Creating gift baskets. And more... By helping in the office, a hospice volunteer is directly and indirectly helping the hospice staff care for the patients and their families. The time you provide is a gift you both give and receive! As a volunteer, you can Work around your busy (or not so busy) schedule Come into the office once a month, once a week...you decide!
