The Livermore Public Library's Rincon Branch Library is looking for Volunteer Reading Coaches to reinforce, boost, strengthen, and support young readers. How? Simply by listening to children read aloud and by reading to them and with them. Reading Coaches assist, guide, and encourage young readers. They help them maintain and build upon reading skills during the summer break.
The program will focus on students entering 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. This is a time and age when children are building habits and skills for a lifetime of reading and learning.
Requirements: Must enjoy book talks with young children and have a passion for reading and learning. VOLUNTEERS MUST PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK.
Minimum Commitment: 2 hour per week
Dates: Monday, June 27 - Wednesday, August 10
Days: Monday and Wednesdays
Time: 1-3pm
