The Minnesota Literacy Council is looking for volunteers for one of its partner sites, the Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative (CRAEC).

CRAEC holds adult ELL classes at introductory, beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Other classes offered are math, computer literacy and citizenship tutorials. The majority of our students come from East Africa (Somalia, Ethiopia).

*Our highest need for volunteers is in the morning program.* Morning classes are held 9 am -12 noon, Monday-Friday.

Volunteers assist teachers and students in the classroom in various ways. Common volunteer roles include working with students one-on-one and in small groups, role-playing conversations, answering questions, helping the teacher present a lesson and much more.

Volunteers give our students the extra attention and practice they really need to progress from one level to the next.
