A book room docent welcomes patrons to the Hervey Family Rare Books Room in Special Collections at the Central Library.The Rare Book Room is seeking volunteers for the below days and hours:
Mondays - 10 am to 11:30 am
Fridays - 10 am to 1 pm
Saturdays - 10 am to 1 pm
4 pm to 6 pm
Sundays - Noon to 3 pm for days we have Padres games
Activities
1. Greet patrons that enter the Rare Book Room
2. Answer general questions about the exhibits
Desired Qualities
1. Minimum age: 18
2. Knowledgeable and interested in book arts and literature
3. Ability to communicate with diverse communities.
Training will be provided.
Time Commitment
6 months, 3 hours/week
