As part of our ongoing mission to save the San Diego River and its surrounding habitat, volunteers are needed to help remove trash and debris from the riverbed in the Mission Valley area. The San Diego River is a very important waterway from both an historic and ecological standpoint, home to many rare and endangered plants and animals. Help us to restore our river and nature preserve to provide a clean and healthy habitat for the native plants and wildlife that call the river home.
No experience necessary, all tools and supplies provided. Community service hours can be verified for those that need them. Participants are asked to wear sturdy clothing that can get a little dirty and also wear closed shoes. Hat and sunscreen are recommended.

Mission Statement
The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to fostering stewardship and appreciation of the region’s namesake waterway. In order to protect and enhance the San Diego River as a place for recreation, habitat, and nature discovery, we are dedicated to engaging people to be stewards of the River and working towards the vision of a 52 mile, river-long system of parks, open spaces, and community places.
Description
We organize many different volunteer stewardship activities each month. River Cleanups, native plant gardening, habitat restoration, volunteer leadership, water quality testing, outreach and education, special event committees, technical committees and more.
