The Urbana Art Expo is a juried fine art fair and exhibition organized by the Urbana Public Arts Program in collaboration with 40 North: Champaign County Arts Council. This inaugural year, 23 local and regional artists are participating in this one-day event.
The Urbana Art Expo team is looking for up to 5 volunteers to help on the day before the Expo (Saturday, September 12) and the day of the Expo (Sunday, September 13). Volunteers will get a chance to meet local artists and arts administrators, and learn event management skills. The following time slots are available:
1. Saturday, September 12, 3-6pm: One (1) volunteer is needed to assist staff with venue setup, including some lifting. Person volunteering for this slot is invited to attend a private reception at Pizza M at 5pm.
2. Sunday, September 13, 7-10am: Two (2) volunteers are needed to assist staff with venue setup, artist check-in/registration, and visitor services.
3. Sunday, September 13, 10am-3pm: One (1) volunteer is needed to assist staff with visitor services.
4. Sunday, September 13, 3-6pm: One (1) volunteer is needed to assist staff with visitor services and teardown.

Description
The Urbana Public Arts Program and Commission were established by the Urbana City Council in 2008.
The program encompasses a wide variety of initiatives, including the Urbana Arts Grants Program, Art at the Market, Art Now!, Artist of the Corridor, Murals on Glass, and the Urbana Sculpture Project. Thanks to these efforts, Urbana was designated an Illinois Arts Friendly Community by the Illinois Arts Alliance and the Illinois Municipal League in 2008.
