Mission Statement

To foster a city where all residents - emerging artists, established artists, and "non-artists" alike - can engage in the arts and where artists can thrive and feel valued.

Description

The Urbana Public Arts Program and Commission were established by the Urbana City Council in 2008.

The program encompasses a wide variety of initiatives, including the Urbana Arts Grants Program, Art at the Market, Art Now!, Artist of the Corridor, Murals on Glass, and the Urbana Sculpture Project. Thanks to these efforts, Urbana was designated an Illinois Arts Friendly Community by the Illinois Arts Alliance and the Illinois Municipal League in 2008.
