The Structured Help Anti-Violence Re-Education Program (SHARP) is a 32-session class for perpetrators of domestic violence. Often called "batterer intervention" these classes are co-facilited using the Emerge Model (www.emergedv.com).

A volunteer co-facilitator would be responsible for co-leading a two hour class session once per week in addition to assisting with monthly reports on each participant and one hour of peer supervision every other week. Pre and post briefing for the class, coordinating planning and educational lessons with a cofacilitator, and co-leading intake sessions as needed are also a part of this position.

The volunteer cofacilitator would work with an experienced cofacilitator, who will provide training. Knowledge of domestic violence is needed, and basic understanding of group facilitation is a plus. A one year committment is requested for this position, although a smaller obligation can be negotiated.

The class time will be Thursday evenings after 5pm, or morning/afternoons from 11am-1pm with supervision time to be negotiated.

There are also potential positions available at our Riverhead office on Mondays. Currently (as of February 2014) these positions are filled, but future openings or the ability to assist with intakes for new participants or other paperwork are available.
