- There are 10 million Americans over the age of 50 who have a dangerous thinning of their bones known as Osteoporosis.
- There may be some of you who are reading this that may either have beginning stages of osteoporosis or have loved ones that are suffering from it.
- Research shows that regular exercise can prevent and even reverse the effects of osteoporosis.
- Bone Builders is a low-impact chair exercise program for adults age 55+ using 1-2 lb. weights designed to target those at risk of osteoporosis and help them build healthy bones.
- Class Leaders, volunteers ages 55+, will receive a certificate, FREE training from a Certified Fitness professional and will be provided with weights/supplies, and class manual for classroom use.
- Classes will be held for just 1 hour twice a week. No previous exercise experience necessary- just an interest in better health! Experiences teaching or leading small interest groups such as at school, church or in the community, helpful yet not required.
- Training for the Class Leaders will be held August 20 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Bartow (Charles Richardson Ctr 615 N. Jackson St.) . Enroll now!
