Trained volunteers facilitate 6 weekly sessions (45 minutes each) in 4th grade classrooms, followed by a joint celebration to honor the new K4K graduates.
Students learn all aspects of proper pet care, to be safe around animals, to be advocates of creatures in need, and to become more caring, sensitive, and conscientious citizens.
Sessions are interactive, fast-paced, and fun!
Instructors use a variety of teaching tools: competitive essay writing, word puzzles, match charts & graphs, discussion, learning games, videos, music, and art.
Classes are held each fall and spring.
