PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The Chapter Mass Care team is responsible for providing Red Cross services to large numbers of clients, including sheltering, feeding, and bulk distribution. Team members build and maintain Mass Care capacity during readiness. They also activate shelters and feeding operations during all scales of response.
OPEN TIME DAYS
Two hours a week as needed.
Attend monthly Disaster Services team meeting.
REQUIRED TRAINING- Shelter Fundamentals (online)
- Psychological First Aid
- Basic Food Safety (online)
- Serving People with Functional and Access Needs in Shelters (online)
- ERV: Ready, Set, Roll (workbook, online, and in-person)
- Bulk Distribution (if available)
These classes must be completed within six months of placement. Until completion of these courses, position may be completed in a supervised \"Trainee\" capacity.
